Promoting and Empowering Zambia's Writing Artistry
The COPPA Book Awards Initiative aims at recognizing and celebrating excellence in literature, particularly in Zambian writing. It is a licensed initiative by the National Arts Council of Zambia under the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Arts. The awards program is designed to honor outstanding works of literature from both established and emerging authors, promoting the diversity and richness of local writing artistry.
This initiative seeks to empower authors, encourage literary creativity, and enhance the visibility of Zambian literature on both a local and international stage. The initiative is committed to promoting quality writing, fostering a love for books, and acknowledging the unique cultural expressions found within African literary works.

Empowerment
This year's awards will focus on ensuring that authors are empowered with right tools and resources to help them make even greater impacts both on a local and international stage.
Networking
The initiative will offer authors the ideal platform for meaningful networking, connecting them with potential partners, co-authors, and the right audience to bring positive attention to their existing work and future projects.
Recognition
Outstanding authors will be celebrated at the 3rd Annual COPPA Book Awards ceremony, where a diverse audience will come together to honor and recognize exceptional works.

The 2024 Edition of The COPPA Book Awards was filled with unforgettable moments, as authors and readers from across the country traveled to Kitwe to take part in the ceremony. A total of 18 writers were honored across a range of writing categories.
